Have you been following the story about the miners in Chile? They had been under the ground for 70 days, but right now 27 of them have been brought to the surface. It's very good news...apparently this is the longest time that humans have been trapped like this and have survived. Soon they will have everyone out! Everyone looks pretty healthy and is doing fairly well... Yay! :)

I was a blubbering idiot when I saw the first miner come up last night. His young son was waiting in the wings and as soon as the capsule (I think that's what it's called) came up, he started crying and then his dad came out of the capsule and hugged him so hard. It was very, very emotional.

I hope they continue to be in good health, and have no future problems from being trapped so long. Some of the best news in a long time, nice to have something positive to see on the news vs all the political BS!!! Just feel sorry for the guy who had his mistress and wife there at same time!

I was just coming here to start a thread and I saw this one. I'm with Sandi on the blubbering idiot scenario. I didn't get to watch it until today as I was working last night, but even sitting here writing this I'm welling up again. Watching them be reunited with their families is just too much for my heart to handle.

I just heard of this news today! I am so glad that they pulled through this! Someone is looking out for them

I remember hearing about the minors ages ago, and then had reheard about it a few days ago when I learned about the pending rescue, and since then have been following it much more closely. I am so thrilled to hear most of the minors have been rescued, including the 19 year old youngest minor, and the 69 (?) year old oldest minor. Supposedly none of them have needed any medical treatment. Can you imagine what it must have been like to be a family member, who at first thought their loved one was dead, then found out they were alive, and then had to agonizingly wait for their rescue?! I am so happy this story had a happy ending!
