first playtime with my little man! im really excited.. since hes been warming up QUITE a bit... he is sniffing, and walking cautiously on our hands. do you think hes ready?

He could be...just take it slow and easy. 
Don't chase him and just let everything happen on his terms, you should be great.
Speaking of that...right now I have a chin loose in the house! She's been tearing through the kitchen when I stop going to look for her. I never chase them, I let them find a place to "hide" and then scoop them up or let them come to me. Right now little miss Mademoiselle seems to be coming to me and then running away because she wants me follow her around. Last time she got out it took me over a half hour to convince her to come to me so I could pick her up...wish me luck. I have a dustbath out already...she jumps in but then gets out when I am near it.
If you need it, sometimes the dustbath works well to "capture" the chinnie. (Until they figure out that they are faster than you and can hop out and run under the dining room table...evil little chins...)
