well i have been saving my tp rolls for chew toys and they all have three rings of what seems to be some adhesive? it has no smell or taste at all i imagine its just for the tp to stick at first. would you say safe or not?
thank you in advance.

Hmm, not knowing what that adhesive is even in a small amount, I wouldn't chance it. Can you cut the ends off and just give them that?

I give tp rolls, paper towel rolls as well as Tissue boxes. They are safe. Most of what a chinchilla chews they do not ingest anyway

there is actually 3 rings of the adhesive top, middle and bottom.

I've wondered about what adhesive they use, too. But, I've never been able to find any information about it. Maybe we should call up a toilet paper manufacturer and ask? Most of the time I can get someone to get me an answer if I call and ask nicely. :)

could you imagine what the company would think lol..... is a wondeful idea!

Most of the people that you end up getting a hold of are so close to the product that they don't end up thinking you are crazy. LOL They're proud of their work and they don't mind sharing. The problem is getting through to them because normally I'll end up calling three places before I get through to the person that knows.

With the internet now email does make it easier, normally. In this case it may take a little more effort.

well after some resaearch the only thing i could find out is angel soft hit the market in 1987 lol

I read on one of the cockatoo sites that the glue used to and may still have zinc in it, which is not good I guess? Anyway, who knows.

I use Quilted Northern and there doesn't seem to be any residual glue or adhesive and I give the rolls to my chin and to my gerbils. I usually just find a shredded pile in little time and then wonder if it was really worth it to give to them when it was destroyed so quickly! At least with my two sons, we always have a steady supply of rolls to give out!

i wouldnt use ones with any adhesive. some of them have it but some dont, its strange.
the sparkle paper towels that i just got dont, but the charmin tp did??
with a fiance', and 8 year old son & 7 & 6 year old step sons we go thru tons of tp & paper towels, so i just toss the ones with glue & save the others.
