this is churros third day at home and figures as much wonderful ny weather we have a thunderstorm right now and churro is just huttled in a ball in his tube and everytime he hears it he shakes his head i feel so bad that this is only his third day home and hes getting really scared :cry3:

Turn on a radio and distract him. He'll settle in eventually and hopefully it won't bother him next time. :)

He'll be OK. Take the opportunity to talk gently to him and take his mind away from it :)).

hess doing better now the storm has passed but he is still a little skiddish like if i move he jumps a bit but as time goes he calming down

thank you

We kept the TV on during the storms last night, and they did okay. It's amazing what cartoons can do to ease a chin's mind!

noooooooooo. now my hubby will know the truth; i told him they must have the home shopping network on......

hahahahahaha:laughitup:

That is all.

Oh and that storm that hit you in NY was a tornado warning out here in York, PA. Quarter sized hail and crazy wind all out of no where. I just saw the warning on TV and let the boyfriend know at work about it when the sky opened up.

For each of my chins, when I first brought them home, they were scared and very skittish! I always had either the TV on or the radio...so they would get used to "noise" and also become more familiar with humans talking. I would always move very slowly...NO sudden movements if you can help it. As time goes on, they'll relax a bit. But, yes, I agree with Tunes...in the future when there's a storm or any other *loud* scary something going on, turn on the radio or TV to distract them...works for me!
