To me that begs the question why are you adding to your breeding herd if you already lack space?

I don't lack space yet, but I know what my limits are. I will never have 100 or even 60 but I would like to get our herd up to 20. Right now we have 9 total that are in breeding. These were all purchased from two top quality ranchers with the intent to show/improve.

But how can you improve without progeny check? You can keep tabs on your sales but they are now in a different environment which can really change things. I'm not knocking the chin or the breeder I know it is common practice, but that doesn't mean it is a particularly good one or one that leads where the breeder hopes to get.i
