I read yesterday that Farrah's funeral was very beautiful. She had 200 quests and her service was closed to the public. I don't know why this was so important to me but Lee Majors attended Farrah. They were married for 10 years during her Charlie's Angels/Pin-Up years. They hadn't spoken for nearly 23 years but when he learned she was diagnosed with cancer he contacted her friends to find out how she was doing, then on her birthday last year he called her and they had a somewhat bittersweet reunion and were able to lay to rest some of the issues from their past. This touched me a great deal. I was happy Redmond was able to attend his mother's service. both Ryan O'Neal and Farrah's doctor read bible passages and it seemed a truly revered service.

Then I hear Michael will be laid to rest publicly. They are even speculating tickets will be sold to the public. What a circus and nightmare? They refer to Michael's family as grieving, althought they have been everywhere lately. The BET awards, the red carpet. I'm sure when my sister passes I won't be going anywhere or talking to anyone for days--that is what griefstricken means. It doesn't mean talking to the media, rushing over to the house to collect belongings and snatch them up like a thief in the night.

Even Elvis, who by the way, IMO is a much larger than life entertainer than Michael Jackson could ever DREAM of being, didn't have such a circus for his funeral.

I guess the truth is when you're weird and bizaare during life your death will be equally so.

I do agree that everything serounding him has never been... normal. Janet seemed genuinely saddened and wanted to give a little message, just like I did at my granddad funeral. But the way his dad acted seemed out of order to me. "I'm allright" who said that after his song passes? "I try to be stong" "I'm trying to hold it together" are sentences I was more expecting.

I heard they cancelled the Neverland public funeral. I'm not sure what they are doing but you make a good point. There's obviously no grieving going on with Joe Jackson.
As far as Farrah, she was a wonderful woman and I'm glad she was put to rest peacefully and with her loved ones present. I really would have liked to hear more about Farrah because her courage and fight can teach us a lot. And bringing attention and research to this horrible disease is so important.

I think it's just a pathetic attempt by his mother and father to get even more money. They have tried to say there is no will, when there obviously is one. The whole family is getting in on the act now that some of the details were released. They are rubbing their hands together at the moola that will roll in at a public circus. Then there's Gary, Indiana rubbing THEIR hands together, practically insisting that he needs to be buried back in his good, ole home town, where he probably hasn't even been in 30 years. Yeah, there's a tourist attraction getting built already.

What was he thinking, leaving everything to his mom and nothing to his dad. Did he really think that was going to stop him from getting his hands on it?

His son wasn't even cold yet and Joe was out running his mouth about a new record company he started. But, don't you dare question him. The Right Reverand Al Sharpton sees a press opportunity, doncha know, and suddenly he's best friends with that child beating man Joe Jackson, staunchly defending him and his "hidden grieving" to the public. Right up there with another "close family friend" who no one has ever seen associated with them before, Jesse Jackson.

They're all freaking weird. Let's go back to Jon and Kate already.

Yeah, not to steal the thread but they released a statement to the press stating that they will no longer talk to the press.

MJ's funeral is totally a publicity stunt. I saw his parents waving and smiling for cameras...shouldn't they be grieving?!?! Im so tired of hearing about him. Poor Farrah and her family, I do have respect for them since they did not make her funeral public. She deserves some attention and spotlight time, too! Love your pic of her Laurie...very beautiful picture of her. Glad this post was up because I just had to vent and I felt like talking in public about this was giving the Jackson family more ammo!

I believe I heard today MJ's body will lie in state at Staples Stadium in LA. Pretty weird. The children are to live with his mother until and/or unless she can't then they are to go to Diana Ross who is now 64 years old. How can you expect anything but weirdness from the Jacksons?

o.k. devils advocate....It is reported that MJ was very close to his mother. His mother and father haven't lived together for the past 10 years so what the idiot father does is probably out of the family's hands. I think it is natural for someone to pick a grandparent to take care of their kids right?

I think it is lousy they are charging $25 to view his body but as someone stated on tv this public viewing is going to cost a lot of money. The family probably doesn't have the cash yet for such a large event since MJ didn't have a lot of cash either. They could keep it a quiet affair (?) That's what I would do.

Noone really knows how they will react after a loved one dies. I learned that first hand after my mom died from cancer. My husband was sad but relieved when his mom died after a long illness because he took care of her for a long time. He has been dealing it with it fine. Me...3 and 1/2 years later I'm still very affected from my mom's passing.

Let's face it ...when we pass a car wreck we all slow down and stare. The Jackson's are like a car wreck. We don't want to pay attention yet we are somehow sucked in... I really don't know why I'm paying attention to be honest LOL Plus dont forget the media likes to keep us curled around their little finger. 1/2 of what they report we learn 4 days later is not true.

PLEASE no more John and Kate!!! LOL If Kate is smart, she'll not do anymore filming in August.

What annoys me about people and MJ is that tons and tons of people (maybe more younger generations) mocked and made fun of Michael Jackson, but the day he died, on my facebook page, 47 friends had become fans of MJ. Their statuses were about MJ, grieving his death, whereas before- what were they? Stupid little silly jokes about the man. I'll admit it, I think the dude has turned into somewhat of a creeper during his later years but I'll always think of him as a great muscisian. I know I wasn't around for some of his better earlier things, but that doesn't mean I do not listen to them today.
