32 years ago today, Elvis passed away at the age of 42. I also thought and it had always been my dream, that I would get to see him. Suddenly that dream was taken from me and at the age of 14 it's almost unbearable to comprehend. Today at the age of 30/16 I still anxiously await that day!

He'll always be "the one" for me. The most handsome man, the best singer, the man with the sexy swagger and before the bubblegum teeny bobber movies he was a darn good actor!

I remember exactly where I was when I heard he died. He truly is an American music icon.

So my mother tells me the other day that she discovered that Elvis could sing! It was a really funny conversation... I kind of always assumed that she knew who Elvis was. She recognized some of his songs. But apparently, she didn't realize who sang the songs. A few weeks ago, she saw something on TV, and found out that some of these songs she liked but never really knew who performed them, came from Elvis. She'd always assumed that Elvis was one of those marginally-talented, big-talking, crazy-dressing pop star types and it wasn't worth paying attention to him. She started looking around the internet to find out more about him (and if you knew my mom, you'd know that she has come a LONG way since the day about 10 or 15 years ago when she told the family that we could use that newfangled computer thing if we liked, but *her* manual typewriter would always work and not care if the electricity went out).

She has now learned who Elvis was, some of the songs he sang ("I never knew he can sing!" she says)... and has even started to YouTube him! I had to laugh... Did you know, there are VIDEOS on YouTube!!!! And there's even some videos of Elvis!!!
