Just a quick update. We have our boys home and everything is going well. Made the liners and am working on makeing some shelves and such to get rid of the "ramps" that came with the cage...but we just got them and the cage and it's a "work in progress" and like I said, they are my gf and I's first chins. They are doing well together...last night was their first night home and the 6 month old (Hemi) was trying to "do the dead with the 8 month old (Hank) and it didnt go well...they cated around the cage for a few and then we seperated them for a few hours..put them back together and all was well for awhile...then it happend again and we seperated for the night. They were together all day today and cuddled up and slept most of the day and no issues....we will probably seperate at night until this comeing weekend when we will be up with them to observe what goes on with them at night when together. Anyway...Hemi is the youngster and has a ton of energy and is vocal and likes to talk to you...not in a mean way, he's just curious and enjoys the attention. Hank the 8 month old is extremely laid back and is a little more calm until it's play time. But with out further ado....here they are and then i'm off to let them have their dust baths and play time in the bathroom. Thanks again for the few that have helped me out on here...great board and lots of support. Hoping to order some stuff this week and support the fellow members/vendors that everyone speaks so highly of..Currently they were eating some Fiesta food and we bought a small bag and will be switching them to Oxbow.

thanks for the move...anyone have any more input on the "cat and mouse" thing? I've done some reading and there isnt any fur flying or blood....just as a new owner it was a concern....oh and Hemi likes to just crawl all over Hank...in a freandly way...he's pertty cuddly.

It's normal for them to chase each other around a bit and do a little dominant humping. As long as no one is getting hurt or excessively chased (it will stress them out a little bit) then they'll be alright. keep an eye on them, but it sounds like everything is going pretty smooth. That's great! Good luck with everything. They're really cute!

Thanks Nicky...yeah they are really warming up to one another. And for once i'm excited to be at the apartment and spend time with them as is my gf. They really are fun to watch. And they are getting used to the sounds and smells of their new home. Hemi let me rub behind his ears and under his chin for a good 5-6 min this morning before i had to get going to work. Hank is really warming up to being help and will fall asleep after you hold him for a while. Hemi isnt 100% sure about being held but is warming up to it more and more...he loves to greet you when you come into the room and runs to the sides of the cage to see what you're doing....he's def. more curious of us and what we do than any of his toys and stuff. He also figured out his flying saucer last night. Now i am going to have to com up with a way to weight the bottom as he gets going fast and he leaps way to the edge. Not a huge deal though.

everything is still doing well...Hank (the 8 month old) is funny, he likes to lay on his side and nap or lay on his side or on his back in his hammock and sleep. It's pertty funny...never seen one lay like that to sleep.

my chin does that all the time, it seems like he's almost always laying on his side when he naps or sleeps. he's my first chin so i don't know how normal it actually is..but my chinny seems to love it? lol

For some chins it is normal to sleep on their side. Both of mine sleep on their side when they are in a deep sleep one even "talks" in her sleep and kicks her feet. I suppose she's dreaming I just hope they're good dreams. Your chins sound like a lot of fun!

well, it's def good to know that others do it. the second night they were home he did it and i couldn't see him breath or anything so i woke him up to make sure he was ok lol....they are a lot of fun...the youngster is curious of us and will sit on you lap at playtime but he isn't much for being held...he sure went nuts last night running around the bathroom...fun to watch that's for sure.
