when i was little, i LOVED june bugs! i was born in june so every time i saw these little buggies i got excited, knowing my birthday was around the corner lol.

theyre pretty dumb though....dont know how to fly...crash into things...have yet to master landing skills... and when i saw that video, i was like "i would totally flick the screen"...which is what happened lol!

but still...theyre one of my small joys of life.

bugs? this time of year? hahahaha!!!!! there's still over two feet of snow in most places up here, and quite a few piles on people's front lawns are still higher than my head! mr weathermaker sure gave us a beating up in igloo land this winter. day time high temperatures are barely over freezing. we might get summer by late August at this rate,

Wow, there's actually a thing called a june bug? I once bought a chin named JuneBug, I just thought it was a cutesy name! Who'd have thought they named their chin after a bug.

I watched the video - I'd have flicked the screen too! Haha. They're predicting snow for this weekend here - I hope not, I'd like the drive to Auburn to be on non-snow-covered roads, thank you.

lol Luci - you said it about them being dumb. I can't leave any lights on outside while I am working or I get bombarded. In a few more days there will be so many it sounds like a constant hailstorm if I have the lights on in the house. :D

The name June bug is supposedly because they emerge in June, thankfully they are one of the few harmless bugs here. When they go away the lovebugs will come out, those are worse.

I wish it would snow once in awhile, I miss it.

Ahhhhhhhhh the June Bug. Here in Virginia they are pretty close to the surface as I found a few transplanting some flowers this spring. So I bought a nice giant bag of June Bug killer and sprinkled it in the beds and covered the entire lawn in preperation of the annual murder of the rotten flower eating heathens. :hilarious:

I loved the "finger flick" at the screen. GO TO THE LIGHT............ snickers to self.

We have tons of STINK BUGS here, or box elders. Kinda gross... Remy likes when they walk on him, it tickles him.

Guhhh june bugs. I live on the east coast of VA and luckily I haven't seen many of them since I moved here. We do have really bad mosquitoes though. My mother in law lives in central VA (near Charlottesville) and her yard is literally swarming with hundreds and hundreds of them. The funny thing is her neighbors on both sides never have ANY. I guess they just like her a lot.

Isabella, ask your mother in law what kind of trees and shrubs she has in her yard compared to what is in the neighbours' yards. also, standing water will attract skeeters. most likely a combo of those two things is why she's bombarded while the neighbours escape the wrath.

i HATE mosquitoes! i'm super sensitive, although not allergic, and any bite will swell up and itch like mad, much worse than other peoples' reactions, and even those topical 'stop itch' treatments don't help worth a darn.

ughhhh there's a ton of stink bugs around my area of MD... They keep invading my apartment! Pretty unpleasant
