I told my so called friend that lived next door to watch my chinchillas. I had no other people to watch them, all of my family lives far away. I always thought he was responsible though.I gave him a list of the things I wanted because you can't expect all people to know what they need. All I can say is thank godness my trip was only for 2 days. I work for a bank and we occasionally go on these meetings meaning I have to travel. When I get home I think nothing of it I go over there and see them and all there stuff was empty except water (thank god) there was a little bit left in both bottles because these are BIG bottles. I called my friend to see if he was coming over 3 times a day like I asked (and which he happily agreed to) and I get "oh dude I'm so sorry I forgot about the little guys....hahaha" I was absolutely steaming mad. I told to give back the $100 dollars I generously paid him to take care of them for just two days! I also called him a few things that I won't go into detail with. I told him not to expect any more calls from me. I was so lucky (I should say hes so lucky as well) that they idn't have any problems. After I gave them a big helping of food ( I never seen the poor guys eat so fast) and their dust baths I took them to the vet (I didn't immediately rush them there because they were still acting like themselves) and he said they were fine. They are always happy to see me get home but i never seen them so happy just to see my face. I'm still mad and its been a few days which I'm sure anyone would be. thanks for having the patience with my story.
Oh and sorry if this doesn't fit into this category but I wasn't sure if it was here or in the behavior I should put it, but it was an emergancy to me. Also, they are still ok, but I noticed when I feed them they always rush over to me to check and see if I'm leaving because I have to walk away from them and everytime I leave for a trip I of course feed them a generous amount. Just so my babysitter just has to refill the bowl once that day.
