there are a few things about your cage that need changed:
1 - the plastic shelves need to be replaced with kiln dried pine shelves. check out the DIY section here to learn how to make your own.
2 - the metal mesh ramps need to be removed. they are a hazard and can trap your chin's toes. chins don't need ramps anyway, they hop and jump from shelf to shelf in the cage.
3 - the wire grate on the cage floor could pose a toe trapping hazard, and could cause bumblefoot if your chin spends a lot of time on the grate.
4 - the plastic food dish should be changed to a ceramic one, due to the plastic being a hazard if the chin were to chew and eat it.
i'd say a week is long enough as long as your chin isn't still super nervous and you've spent time by the cage getting them used to you and your voice. make sure the area you let her out into is chin proofed (all wires put up out of the way, small crevices blocked off, and nothing she could chew on that would make her ill). the bathroom is a great play area, with the toilet lid closed and the bathtub wiped dry.
