Hey all,

Now I have my new chinnie (who's fighting my kiplingmonkey keychain right now  ) I have some questions.

Quarantine is useless now because of my mother who I specifically told not, NOT to place her in the same room as Stevie. (she did when i wasn't watching :hair:)

Now the girls are in separate cages next to eachother but to make mathers even worse mom let them together in the kitchen :hair:
There was no harm done so I watched them for a minute.

Steve just wanders around, the new girl aswell.
But when they cross paths they touch noses and Stevie starts to chase her. (no biting or anything though)

Now can someone tell me how I can bond them? If it's still possible.

Also I don't think she drank anything since I got her yesterday. I got her a new bottle thinking the other one was broke, but still nothing.

I tried giving her some water with a syringe but she doesn't want to.

Other tips and tricks are welcome!

THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH FOR ALL THE HELP I RECEIVED SO FAR! IT MEANS SO MUCH FOR ME.

:)

When I introduce chins I use a small show cage, put one animal in it, then place that cage in the larger cage where they will be living. Leave the chin in there for several hours, then switch them. After a couple times, they are usually able to go together easily. When I put them together, I make sure the cage they are going in is 100% cleaned, with all new (or washed) bedding, hammocks, houses, chew toys, etc. Then I throw in a dust bath, a pile of hay, put a dab of kitchen vanilla on their noses and around their tails, and put them together. Keep an eye on them for the first while, which is why it's better to do this over a weekend if you can, and if they are getting along you're good to go.

Just remember to always keep a spare cage handy because you never know if they may turn on each other at some point.

As far as the drinking, open a raisin and rub it on the tip of the bottle. That often helps to encourage them to drink. Is it the same kind of water bottle she's used to? If not, you may want to get that specific water bottle instead of the one you are using. I don't see you mention how old she is? If she's over 6 months, you can hang a water bottle with half 100% all natural (no sugar added) apple juice and half water for a few days. That may encourage her to drink as well. Be sure to leave a regular water bottle there as well though. If she's under 6 months, try the raisin on the tip trick.
