BABIES....surprise!!!

I had moved my girls into an all girl cage, but I guess Tiffany was already pregnant at that time.
I have cut down my breeding to almost NOTHING this year....but was yet happily surprised by z2 and z3......mosaics from Tiffany (mosaic from Chins to Cherish) and Theodore (medium ebony sapphire carrier, SEWARD)
I have since rehomed Theodore to a wonderful pet home, since I didn't want too many males, but he is now a daddy!

I am keeping one of the female babies (both are females) to keep with Tiffany, and the other one is already sold to someone who has wanted a mosaic baby for a long time and has already given me a deposit. It will be her first chinchilla and she has been researching forever before she actually purchased one.

Well, ......introducing........Tiffany's babies....Roxy and Macy......55 grams at birth and 59 grams at birth, both happy and healthy.

very cute..but wow a baby already sold with a deposit isn't that a little risky being they were just born a lot can go wrong. Most breeders wait until they are closer to weaning age at least

Yes exactly, but it is just that she wanted to make sure I wouldn't sell to anyone else, .....so she insisted on a deposit...... I never advertised them, and don't do that until weaning age, but this lady has been emailing me for months waiting for a baby. I told her that I rarely have kits born.....and they happened to email me again when they were a few days old. I think she just wanted to make sure that one baby was FOR SURE hers.
if something goes wrong, then I will definitely refund her. They are a week old today and thriving so far.
