Two weeks ago Lisa had surgery to see about inserting a catheter into her spine for pain management. She's done very well with the drugs she's been getting and her pain level is very low. Tomorrow at 9am she will go and have the unit permanently placed inside her body.
She is very weak and frail, but wants to go ahead with the surgery. Mom is worried about it but Lynelle and I know what a fighter Lisa is and think she will be fine.
Please take some time if you can to say a prayer for my beautiful sister Lisa. I'll be asking God to keep her safe while in the care of her doctor.
I'll try my best to update tomorrow with how things are going. I'll be spending tomorrow night and the weekend with her.

Laurie, your sister is so strong and I know she will do great in surgery tomorrow. She'll have a lot of guardian angels watching over her and keeping her protected.

I'm so glad the pain is better. The doctors wouldn't do the surgery if they thought she wouldn't make it. Weak and fragile is to be expected as you know, but that's OK, she doesn't even need to get out of bed. At least she is still here and she still has "gifts and blessings" to give you through conversation and observations in this time of transition and change. Love and Hugs, Theresa

Laurie, your sister and family are in my prayers.

One of my dad's tennis partners had the same procedure done because of pain she has due to a spinal disorder (scoliosis or spinal stenosis... can't remember) and it has made a world of difference for her. The procedure went smoothly and it helped so much with her pain she now can play tennis again. I hope it will be able to manage your sister's pain the same way.

Laurie, I wish Lisa all the best and hope the pain will be kept under control...Granda amazed all of us with how strong he was...He was going nowhere! I'm glad Lisa is a fighter too.

I'm also amazed at how you can still come into chat and bring joy to everyone. I used to go into chat and depress everyone...You too! You and Lisa and all your family seem to be very, very strong people.

Just look at Michael Jackson - It could be me, you or anyone tomorrow. Life.

Laurie, you and Lisa and the rest of your family are in my thoughts. Lisa definitely is a fighter and will pull through from this surgery. Let us know how everything goes.

Thinking about her and hoping all went well. Please let us know how it goes. Prayers.

Lisa's home and doing fine! She's pretty doped up on Percocet right now and has some incision pain but doing very well! Thanks everyone for your well wishes!

Laurie, that's great news. I still think of you and your family everyday.
