Hi i was wondering if it is ok to freeze extra supplement? I bought 10lbs from ryersons and I only have 4 chins so I am not going to use all of it forever. So is it ok to freeze to keep it from going bad?

freezing supplement

I would call Jan & Rich, they would be the best source for that info.

I used to keep mine in the fridge in a sealed tupperware container.

Wow, ten pounds is a lot. Maybe you'd like to package a little up for me and send it? I'll make it worth your while, heh.

If it contains probiotics like acidophilus, freezing will kill them off, pretty much nulling the point of adding them in the first place. You could store it in airtight containers in the fridge, tho I think with that much, you might consider offering some in the classifieds here as Carol~Anne mentioned.

Carol Anne, if you are interested I have some of Ryerson's supplements. I have extra here that I can send you. All you need to pay would be the shipping charges.

I asked and the said it last 4-6 months, by my calculations 1 pound lasts 1 chin a little over 6 months, so do an airtight container in the fridge with about 4 then sell the rest

Really? Yes, I'd definitely be interested in getting some; that's very nice of you. I'll pm you later as hurrying out the door right now. Thanks. :)

when i bought the large container of Lifeline she said to keep it refridgerated in the container and it would be good for up to 1 year. after that is was still good but the probiotic may lose its effectiveness.
