As a present, my boyfriend gave me a lionhead rabbit. I absolutely adore him to pieces, but I was really concerned with giving both my 2 chins (With hopefully a 3rd on the way) and my rabbit the same play time.

I am mentioning I got him as a gift because I probably would in no way get a rabbit on my own with having chins because they are both high attention, my chins gets two one hour play times out of there cage. However, despite the following problem, its seems to be fine.

Well, I had the chins out and surprisingly my very shy, timid and sweet chin Casanova just went to Chewbacca's cage (the rabbit) and starting sniffing. I watched carefully and sure enough Casanova went to go bite Chewbacca.

I only have two rooms chin proof (the bathroom and main room) but my bathroom is quite small and I don't feel like its enough space ever, but here I can't have either out.

Even though Chewbacca is very friendly to the chins, if he comes close to the chin cage, Casanova gets angry (Valentine does not, in fact I am pretty sure he likes the rabbit)

So I bought a large play pen that is a 36 in high so the chins have there own area and can't get to the rabbit cage,
But my chins must be super pets because they just jump out of it.
I don't have any large items with them (Just play toys and then a shoe box they can hide in)

I do live in a studio, so there is no way I can just separate rooms (Although yes the cages are across the house completely)

I just don't want to stress out my chins (The rabbit seems not to care whatsoever)

Any suggestions?
Here is a photo of me and the rabbit btw :)

You need to keep your chins away from your rabbit. Even though he's the sweetest thing (adorable picture!) rabbits can carry diseases that can kill your chins, and never even show a symptom. They should not share play areas.

As far as the playpen, put a blanket or a sheet over the top. I used to do that and it worked great. Marshall's also makes a canvas bottom that can double as a cover as well.

Oh jeeze I didn't know that :(
Well, the chins are in the main room and the rabbit is what is called a closet..its like a very large walk in or small bedroom with no door that leads to the bathroom.
I don't let them play in the closet because i have all my shoes and other items that they chew on, but maybe now I should just designate that to the rabbit.
I will try the blanket. I don't know why that didn't occur to me lol. The playpen is now where my dining room table should be which is across the studio from the "closet"
Is that enough space between them? I live in a large artist studio..so it would be like I think from going to a kitchen in a normal house to the nearest bedroom.
I really am in love with my new rabbit, but I don't want problems.
