Hi I just ordered a cube shaped snuggle buddy for my young chin Lenora from Camphorchins. I have seen pictures here of chins with snuggle buddies and thought my chin might like a buddy.

Here are my questions: do I just put the snuggle buddy anywhere in the cage and she will carry it around. Or did I tuck it up on a shelf or in her sleep house? Also, how often should I wash the buddy?

Thanks everyone. Pictures are promised. :)

I just stick it anywhere in the cage. Mine doesn't really carry it around. In fact, she never really pays attention to it, so I guess it was more for me (it's a chinchilla stuffy from QMC. It's pretty cute). I've had it for some weeks and only washed it once because she never touched it so it never got dirty, just sat on a shelf. But, recently she's been using it as a pillow...the waiting has finally paid off!!! Of course, now in the picture it's covered in dust and some hay because she's actually touching it now, so I'm not sure how often I'll wash it, just whenever I feel it needs to be clean. Maybe once every 1-2 weeks depending on what it gets on it.

That is an adorable pic of your chin and his/her snuggle buddy.

As far as what they stuff them with, all mine have scraps of fleece as stuffing.

One of my girls sits on her snuggle buddies/pillows CONSTANTLY. The other... ignores hers and is much too busy jumping around.

As for washing, it depends on how much they pee on it for me. Frequent peeing = frequent washing.

I had a snuggle buddy in with two males and had to switch it out weekly because males will more than "snuggle" their buddies. (Think Barry White, mood lighting... Yeah. That. Better the snuggle buddy than my hand, I thought.) As long as she doesn't pee on it or whatever, you can probably get away with washing it every other week.
