This kit was just 24 hours old when this photo was taken and he weighed 62 gms at birth. I would consider him to be average to large. The kit that was stuck and delivered by c-section was much larger and unfortunately it had died in utero, probably due to hypoxia.

Mom and baby are doing well this morning. Kit has only lost 3 gms since birth but is active and spunky and mom seems more active today. Eating okay but would like to see her eating and drinking more. Supplemented with CC and LL yesterday twice. Once this morning. Mom is pooping so that makes me happy.

Kit was down to 59 gms yesterday and is up 1 gm to 60 gms this morning. Keeping fingers crossed that Pixi's milk is coming in.

Pixi seems to be doing fine, not very active but incision looks good and she is pooping. I have been supplementing her with CC and will probably start to back off today.

Sorry about my delay Juanita, I have been crazy busy and working. I just couldn't believe this happened to Pixi. I'm glad she is recovering and the kit is doing well. I know you must be heart broken. I love my little boy out of Pixi and look forward to his offspring in the future. And of course I look forward to showing him on your behalf.

Sending "chin lovin " to your pretty girl. :hug3:

Pixi is doing awesome. Poop is back to normal, she is eating hay more than anything but I will back off on feeding the CC today. Incision is clean and healing nicely so put her back onto shavings today - she actually seems to be happy about that - she was a little freaked out by the fleece. And to add to the good news....baby boy gained 6 gms between yesterday morning and this morning. So far, so good and keeping fingers crossed.
