Alot of Teeth problems can never be fully fixed and just maintained.
When roots start to overgrow there's nothing you can do but medicate hand feed and make the chin as comfortable as possible untill the quality of life isn't the same and the chin has to be pts.
Over grown teeth (not the roots) can be trimmed and filled down some never have another problem some continue to need regular fillings...
It really is a case by case thing where there are a number of outcomes..
But usually crumbling food signifies pain while eating. Tho for one of my girls is signifies 'I didn't like that part of the pellet'

I've got a bad feeling :( I really hope it's nothing I can't help her with :(

As you have been told many times in several threads, the only way to find out is to take her to a qualified vet and to have x-rays done under sedation. The sooner this is done the better. Coming on this forum and asking for help in an emergency when you can't get to a vet is great as there are many knowledgeable members but to continue to let it drag on and continue to ask opinions as to what it could be and what kind of teeth problems chinchillas can have when that information is easily researched on this forum and on the internet is in my opinion irresponsible.

How dare you call me irresponsible :S
My chinchilla has an appointment for an xray and sedation tomorrow morning!
I have done the very best for her, and I've researched every illness I can possibily find.
I am in NO means irrisponsible! First of I have already spent £800 on vet bills! I have not had the money for anything other than just trying to live!
I wasn't going to put her under more stress a month ago after everything she's been through! I was waiting for the right time! How dare you insult me like that...

Self-Policing

If you feel a thread is getting off topic, etc. please click the warn button (!) on the post or thread to bring it to the attention of a moderator. Only click the warn button once. Do not try to remedy the situation yourself. A moderator will review the thread and get it back on topic.

Do not address another member like that. Bottom line is she needs to be sedated and her teeth examined via xray. The only reason members are a little perturbed is because you've been told this since mid-March.You have an appointment, I hope it goes well and they are able to give you a correct diagnosis.

You may start a new thread with the findings from her visit tomorrow. There is no need to continue this one.
