So another stupid bar broke on Banilly's cage. That makes it the third one. Usually we just turn a shelf sideways to cover it, but we're running out of room to do that. We decided that we're just going to suck it up and just buy a ferret nation as soon as I get my first paycheck. We want to have her litterbox trained and use fleece liners, so we're going to try and start litter training her now while she's still in her old cage.

We got an 8x8 metal baking pan from Target and I put some bedding in there with a little bit of peed-on bedding so she'll know what it's for. This is what I've read to do. We only just started today so she obviously doesn't get it yet. Does anyone have any other advice? I know it's a matter of time, but you guys have tricks for everything, haha.

In other exciting news, my best friend just got a rabbit so I FINALLY have somebody to share 25lb bags of Purina with!!! (by the way, do we still call it PANR? I know it's different....) I'm so excited! No more ordering 10 lbs at a time and paying 15$ just to ship it. This is going to make things way easier.

Also I don't know if I mentioned it before, but my fiance got accepted to my school and we're finally going to move in together at the end of the summer. This means I get to see him AND Banilly all year round and not just when I come home! Sooo happy about this :))

Does your chin tend to pee in one spot? If so, then make sure and place the dish there. I've only successfully trained one of my girls to exclusively pee in a tray. All the others will pee in a tray but also pee elsewhere if they are so inclined.

I think people are referring to the new Purina as PRCS.

Ehhhh she usually pees in two corners. I put the tray in the one she uses the most and put her chinchiller in the other so she couldn't go there. Hopefully she'll get the idea. So far she just hops in it and nibbles on the clean litter. She's probably thinking, "oh look! A huge bowl of toys!" Haha

Mr. Whiskers preferred one spot and The Snuggler preferred another. When I got them together, I just put 2 pans in -- one in each of their favorite corners. Now, they both use both of them, so it's fine with me. It's not much more trouble to bus 2 pans instead of 1.

I'm just thankful that they are potty trained!!!

A pair of mine preferred one corner and the other pair liked to just pee in the middle of the cage in random spots but both were just as easy to litter box train. I'm sure if I didn't put soiled bedding in the pan first, it wouldn't of gone as smoothly. Both pairs will pee on the fleece sometimes. When I catch them doing it I just poke 'em and they run to the litter box to finish, lol.

Now my new little boy likes to pee in his hidey house and not actually use it any other time so he should be fun to litter box train
