Stares at me all night long...

Why does my chin keep staring at me? It feels so weird. And only chinchin does it. My second chin gremlin doesnt do that at all.

Really? No i dont agree that they are creepy. But it just gets to my mind how weird it is when they just stare at you for 15 mins or so, runs off and starts staring again..

hes saying outloud observations about you while Gremlin writes it all down. thats why Gremlins not staring, hes writing. some day they will tell all chinchillas about their discoveries of the human race. :neener:

No, seriously, chinchillas are creepy freaks. At least mine are. Tia is either staring at me or eating her body weight in hay, and Bessie... well, Bessie needs her own paragraph about her creepiness.

If she's not staring at me, she's hanging upside down between two ledges staring at me and peeping for attention. Then when I go to love her, she generally will hump the heck out of my hands and/or feet. Sometimes she gets them dirty also. She's definitely a female, she has the lady bits, she's just... a freak.

Chinchillas just love to stare, I think.

rutherford stares at me allllllllllll the time from the shelf furthest away from me. sometimes when i leave the room to use the bathroom, i'd find him with a paw on the cage, sitting and staring at the door! but i stare at him, too, like when he falls asleep or is eating and playing. guess it's only fair that he gets to stare at me while i'm on my computer, studying and playing games!

I'm so glad someone posted this! I thought Chipper was weird or something. We call it the zone in my house. He just stops and stares at... nothing! I've even waved my hand in his face and gotten no reaction. Then all of a sudden he's animated again, sniffing and looking around and doing chinny things. Then zones again to the point where I wonder what he's listening to that I can't hear. I agree with Psycho_Ash. It's creepy! Cute, but creepy.

Ooo, I see mine do that at work all the time. It's really weird when he does it mid-leap or something... just randomly stop and stare. And stare. And stare. 0_0;;

Shoe does this all the time as well. Usually when he eats. He will sit by his food bowl, chew VERY slowly and stare me down. We call it chinchilla TV. Guess he likes the channel

Thanks everyone. Till today it's still the same. Chin2 does it whilst gremlin doesn't. They both are different in many ways. The chin behavior is not so easy to understand. But I guess once you get the hang of it all will be great.
