do your hedgies sleep in weird positions?

im probably wrong, but i always thought they were supposed to sleep curled up in balls.

thinking this, i checked on my babies last night, saw them sprawled out on their tummies, and i woke them up to see if they were okay.

they just looked really weird? :/

is it normal for them to sleep weird? haha.

also, do babies sleep ALOT? like, ALL the time?
cause mine do. just curious.

thanks.

hey, I still don't have my hedgie waiting for him, but from all the books and online articles that I have read is that ye they sleep in weird positions.

sometimes they prefer to be in a ball sometimes on their tummy like you saw your hedgies. that is what online articles and books that I read said. I wouldn't be worried about it.

although I don't have hedgie yet so i don't know if babies sleep alot or not, but if they wake up and run around I wouldn't be too worried.

Sometimes, if they are sprawled out on their stomachs, they could be too hot. Check your temperature to make sure it's comfortable, otherwise, they're probably just sleeping

Mine sleeps in a loose ball sort of on her side and sort of on her tummy - a bit like a croissant.

As a baby, she slept in all sorts of positions. The strangest to me was upside down in my hands. I had my hands loosely cupped together. She was sitting in the upper (?) one and shifted postion as she fell asleep. She had her tiny bottom on the edge of my left palm; the rest of her was curled over the side of that hand so that her head was upside down and her face pressed into the palm of my right hand... sound asleep. This is one of my most happy memories of baby Satin.

aww. thats so cute!

my temp is 76-78.

im waiting on my thermostat to come in so i can keep it regular. im doing the best i can.

thats not too hot, is it?

I set mine at 76 and it varies 76 to 78. Works well for my girl. Seems like it's in the "normal" range for hedgies.

That is SO cute about Baby Satin. Squee ALWAYS sleeps in a ball... or atleast when i can see him, if i try to sneak a peak at him in his little fleece nest it wakes him up the second i move a fold and sets him off in a huffy puff rage. Now that i've switched his cage around and introduced more fleece - he sleeps under his truck :S He's a silly one.

I noticed that about my hedgehog last night too. I wasn't sure if I should have been worried, lol. But, I think it's just how they are. XD

Yeah I got my hedgie on monday, and from monday night till today I noticed he had slept kinda flat, and then just before I went to get him for some bonding time he was in that croissant ball shape.. I got scared o__o thinking he was getting ready to hibernate for some reason. I had just read a post about how someone found their hedgie in a tight ball. So I sorta freaked and picked him up and held him close till he uncurled. He's probably like "Mommy is a weirdo..."
