Sleeping most of the night and all day

I've just had my first hedgie. She's 6 months old, an african albino pigmy, and she is very friendly.

I heard hedgies sleep most of the day and come awake at night but I watched her from 12pm till 3am this morning and she still didn't venture out of her bed. She had come out to use the toilet at sometime when I was asleep but she hadn't eaten anything either. I've offered her a meal worm too but she won't take it off me.

She seems well enough, no runny nose and her poop is normal. She must be waking up after 3am but I am not sure for how long. Is this a normal time for her to wake up? Could it be because I only bought her yesterday?

Also how much food does a 6 month hedgie eat? I'm feeding her chicken vedgies and fruit and also some hedgie complete food but she hasn't touched any of it since I bought her home at 12pm yesterday. It's now 2pm next day.

Any advice wanted as I'm new to this. Thanks Nikki

If you just got her she's probably stressed. Give her a day or to to settle, and since she's young she may sleep more than when she's older. Did you have the light on? I have one who will come out in dim light, one who doesn't care, and a third who won't come out if a night light is on. Only likes really dark, so that might also be why she didn't come out.

yeah she has a light on in the daytime and a very dim light on till 3ish. Thanks for replying!
