Slate Ledges Question

I have run across sites selling ledges made of shaped pieces of slate. Are these safe if a chin falls against it? I would think that they are easier to clean than the wood ledges and would feel cool too.

Any opinions welcome.

I imagine theyd be safe as long as the chin couldnt fall more than a few inches onto it.
Like maybe make it one of the higher ledges

I have several in my cages and the chins love them. As far as safety is concerned as already stated make sure that your chin cannot fall a large distance anywhere in the cage ).
