I keep my chinchillas in the basement of my house where it is cool & dry. Unfortunately, when New Jersey got hit by Hurricane Irene, we had a massive amount of flooding in the basement. My chins cage is high enough off the ground and I know they didn't get wet at all. But now they seem to be sick. From their symptoms & things I have read, I'm thinking upper respiratory infection. Is it possible that the stress of the flood along with the sudden dampness caused this? I've had them down in the basement for about 6 months now and they have been fine. It was only after the flooding. Nothing else about their environment has changed. I am taking them to the vet on Tuesday, but wanted to get some input from you guys first. Thanks!

Also some pictures of my little guys :)

Take them today. If they have respiratory infections, they most likely will be dead by Tuesday. Find an emergency exotics vet and take them today.

They could be sick for any number of reasons, but what's important right now is getting them to a vet.
