I had to take poor Koda to the vet today because she has not been eating or drinking, her poopies are discolored and small, and she is lethargic. I noticed she was acting slightly off a few days a go but last night was when she stopped eating so I gave her a little critical care and took her in this morning. I've never used this vet before but I called them a long time ago and asked them chin questions, they seem very knowledgeable. I dropped her off in the morning and left her there because she didn't have an appointment so they were going to work on her in between. They called me later and said they would like to keep her overnight and they are going to do x-rays and blood work. I miss her so much. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

We all worry about our "kids!" Good luck and I hope she's O.K.!

Thank you all for the well wishes. I just got back from visiting Koda at the vet. She was a very cranky and stressed out chin:( but she was more active and her poos were normal size although still off color. I didn't speak to the doctor because he was with another patient but he is supposed to call me this evening. I do know they gave her fluids and she was eating hay when I got there. I feel better after seeing her but I'll learn more when the doctor calls.

Update!!

I spoke to the vet today. Unfortunately it was too late in the afternoon for me to get her so I will be picking her up tomorrow. He told me that her blood work looks good and so do the x-rays. He said he is not sure why she stopped eating and drinking but knows she's constipated so he gave her laxatives but it might take a day or two to work. He also said the she's eating hay and drinking a little bit but he gave her more fluids this morning and she's been eating critical care. What do you guys think? Is it normal for a chin to just stop eating and drinking or is there usually a cause? This is the second time this year she's done this (last time was in October) and unfortunately I don't have a pedigree or any information about her family history. She is a year old though. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything possible and with this being my first chin I'm still learning. This is also the first time I've used this vet.

What kind of feed do you give her? Also, has there been any changes recently either in your home or within hers? If she seems to be in good health, maybe it is just a stress thing.

I feed her PANR and oxbow hay. I picked her up today and she's pretty active which is good. She's also eating hay. Maybe it was a stress thing. Thank you for all your help.
