I consulted my exotics vet, and she said that its up to me if I decide to breed my 2 chinchillas or get my male neutered for $129. If I breed, I have perfect homes for the kits, and I have asked myself all of those questions. In your opinion should I breed them?

Are you seriously asking this question again? Didn't everyone in the other thread you posted advise you against breeding them?

If you aren't going to follow advice, why ask for it? Are you just waiting for the answer you want to hear? Okay, here you go: breed them. Go ahead, and when you encounter the issues associated with breeding pet store chinchillas or even just with breeding in general, don't expect sympathy.

You aren't going to get a different response from the people here no matter how many times you ask this question. Neuter your male, or separate them. It'd save your male and your pocketbook some sorrow if you would just split them up.

I have an oppiontment for my male to be neutered on Thursday. Thank you. And sorry for asking again, but I am getting him neutered immediatly now :-D

Where do your animals come from, if I am not mistaken a petstore.
So, if that is the case, the answer is no you should not.
The reason being you have no idea of where they come from, if there parents have health issues that can be genetically transmitted and the only way to really know is with pedigrees and good responsible breeders. Even if you have great homes for the kits, are you comfortable at giving or selling animals to potentionally good homes that may have to dish out hundreds of dollars at the vet because the kits have genetically transmitted health problems. Following that what will be their opinion of you selling such.

Granted kits are cute, BUT an other reason not to would be to possible put the lives of the mom and kits at risk for many different reasons, therefore costing YOU more than 129$ of vet bills, more like hundreds and possibily thousands and no kits for good homes.
If making money was far in the back of your mind, you don't make money breeding unless you have hundreds/thousands of chins and even then I'm not sure.

Take the time to read the breeding section and see the horride things that may go wrong during and after pregnancy.

I don't think it is worth playing the RUSSIAN ROULETTE with animals of any kind. If you care and love your chins then you know what to do.

Hope you make a responsable choice :)

I really do hope you are going to follow through with that decision. Lots of people want to breed but they don't realize the heartache that often comes with it, as well as the high-priced vet bills in the event of some complication. Top that off with chins from unknown (petstore) backgrounds, and you set the kits up for potential genetic issues as well. It just isn't a good thing to do, nor is it responsible.

Just because animals (or people for that matter) can breed doesn't mean they should breed. An exotic vet can tell you if they might physically be ok, but they do not know quality chinchillas.

Very well put! I agree completely. Far too many people are breeding animals, including chinchillas, just because they can. Very often the consequences for the animals are terrible and painful. Pure selfishness on the human's part, if you ask me.

Simply put NO!

Personally I've got a litter of triplets I am handfeeding every 2 hours around the clock. You've got time like that?
