Went on a shoe shopping spree at a outlet that is closing for good, Was wondering now that I have about 7 shoe boxes, and they are all boxes for boots so pretty good size, was thinking of making a maze for the girls. I know it will not last long but my main concern is , is it safe to let my girls play in at playtime,

I think as long as they are supervised the whole time and as long as they are eating the cardboard, it would be okay. My chins have thick cardboard tubes (ones that come with hay in them from Petco) and they love them. They do chew the tubes some, but they don't eat it. They throw it outside the cage. I know they aren't ingesting it, because it's large chunks, and they match perfectly to the missing tube pieces.
So I really don't think it would hurt as long as you make sure they do not eat it.

Nikki's absolutely right...for play, yes :) unsupervised, no. They could ingest it...and that'd be bad :) otherwise, to play on/in, go for it!

The only boxes I dont give mine are produce boxes and egg cartons, everything else is fine in the play pen.

I use cardboard all the time for tubes & tunnels during playtime. Our chins don't chew them much, but we still never leave them alone and unsupervised with cardboard
