My hoglets were six weeks old yesterday. They are eating solid food and drinking from a water bowl now. I'm thinking it's time to separate them from their mother and each other. However, I'm concerned that they are still nursing. Is that typical at this age? Should I still take them away from momma even though this is happening?

Boys should be away from mom at 6 weeks. Move the boys out on their own, and girls on their own for 4-5 hours at a time. Boys can go with boys, girls with girls. You want the boys away from mom and sisters soon.

The hoglets are all boys. So you are saying that I should place them back with their mother every 4-5 hours to continue to be nursed? If I'm understanding you correctly, then how long of a period of time should I continue to do this?

Since they are all boys and are already 6 weeks old, I'd get them moved away from mom within the next day or two. I'd take two away for 4-5 hours, then put them back and take the other two for 4-5 hours then move them all away, back for a few hours and then gone from mom completely. Chances are, mom is not letting them nurse, or if so, it wouldn't be very much.
