Runny Nose

My Hedgie has a runny nose. He doesn't seem to have any other symptoms such as sneezing or weezing. I'm wondering if he has a mild cold due to turning off the heat in the house because of the nicer weather. I have been reading that a heating pad can help warm them...I'm going to try that now.

I have only been a hedgie owner since Feb 2010 so if anyone thinks this can be serious or I should call the vet let me know!

How runny and what colour is it? I'd have him checked by the vet just to be sure it isn't a respiratory infection. Hedgies do not recover from colds without antibiotic.

A heating pad alone will not keep a cage at a suitable temperature. You need to use either a space heater to keep the whole room warm, or depending on the type and size of cage you can use a ceramic heat emitter with a thermostat.

It's clear in color and I haven't seen it drip but it is wet.
