I didn't know--haven't checked out any news yet today. I know her health had been failing though. I loved Elizabeth Taylor. I do not believe there was better on screen chemistry than Liz Taylor and Paul Newman in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She was a gorgeous woman--with the most beautiful eyes ever. Being the romantic I am I always believed Liz Taylor and Richard Burton were the ultimate love--couldn't live with each other yet seemed as if they couldn't live apart. I believe today they were happily reunited. Rest in peace, beautiful Liz.

I don't know why, but I thought she was so much older. I knew she had been in ill health, but it still came as a shock when I read about it this morning.

Oh, dear - such a wonderful actress too. I hate to see our classic artist leaving us. I know we all have to go sometime but such a shame at that age. Another actress I love is Zsa Zsa Gabor - a natural beauty too.

I loved watching her movies as a child. "National Velvet", "Cleopatra," eventually "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" (and dang if Paul Newman wasn't yummy!). I can hardly say I'm shocked to see her go, considering how long she's been ill, but it's a sad day for Hollywood. We're one step farther from the Classics; not many of her caliber and generation are left.

I did too! I thought she was in her mid to late eighties.

And I agree, 3ChinsMommy, there really aren't many of her caliber around in this day and age. Or if they are, sadly, they've got a heap of personal problems.

I must have watched National Velvet a hundred times in a week when I discovered the movie. I can remember growing up and my mom talking about how beautiful she was.. and she was truly beautiful. She'll be missed thats for sure.
