Can the spots that some chins get on their ears grow in over time or are they only born with them?

It looks like my female child, Ameana (born back in february) is starting to get a few spot on her ears. And if she does she will end up looking exactly like daddy after all lol. But up till now they have always been perfectly clear.

Where as my male kit who is a few months older then ameana, looks 100% like her, which is a dady look a like but with clear ears, remains perfectly clear.

When i took the daddy in 4-5 years ago, he was already fully grown. So i have no idea if his grew in or if he was born with them.

Every girls worst nightmare... Looking 100% like her brother, and only a single feature away form looking 100% like her father lol. :hair:

Here are a couple of pictures of our tan female, Peanut. You can see when she was a baby there are no spots. She started to get them at about 6 months of age, now her ears are covered in them and she is absolutey adorable!!!

You will only see them in chins with the beige gene.

ETA: pictures, sorry screwed up when trying to upload them

I just L O V E that they can get freckles, and on noses and toeses too! Chinchillas are just about the cutest things there are.

wow. Quite the change. Honestly, if it hadnt been mentioned i might of thought the chin in the first pick was an entirly diffrent one then in the other two.

Its going to be quite ironic if my girl does grow many spots. Sophie had two girls her last litter. One is an exact look a like for her and the other would be an exact look a like to daddy lol.
