Hello all.
I was wondering if there is a size chart available similar to the kind puppy breeders use to project future adult size.

I have a 13 week old kit who weighed in this morning at 410 grams. Anyone want to guess what size I might expect when she grows up? Her mom is around 600 grams, not sure of the dad....

I personally think it's really hard to project size. I've had kits at 250g at 4-6 weeks old stop growing at 600g after 6-8 months, and then kits at 150g at 4-6 weeks old end up over 800g. One of my customers contacted me the other day, letting me know that she had weighed one of the girls she purchased from me - who is now 1240g. Her mother is only 750g or so and father was even smaller before I sold him. I just wait and watch the magic happen.

There is no way to know what size a kit will be until it's done growing fully. You can't guesstimate based on the parents weight either.

My Meeka weighed in at 650 gm, Flit at a whopping 595. They never had a kit less than 900 gm fully grown.

That's part of the fun though, isn't it? Waiting to see how they turn out? :)

As Tunes said - it really is a guessing game. Some chins gain very good weight as young kits then slow down. Others gain slowly and then get a real good weight. Still others remain small until over a year and then you look at the chin 6 months later and can't believe the weight /size gain. And , of course, there is the kit that keeps growing and growing and growing. And then there is the kit that never seems to grow
My guess is 850 at about a year - remember it is just a quess

Like said above there is really no way to project size. you just kinda have to wait. You can have a little bit of an Idea if you have kept babis from a pairing before but with genetics it is always a little bit of a gamble
