My neighbors will be cutting down their poplar trees and cutting back their curly willow tree in the next few weeks. I can have as much as I want. Would $7.00 a pound be a fair price for unprocessed wood?

It's whatever you want to sell it at. The reason you don't see a whole lot of unprocessed wood for sale is it tends to mold on it's way to people. Ronda tried it and it didn't work out so well.

Can you please give a price for unprocessed and processed because I believe CA cannot receive unprocessed wood.

Another very good point, I am sure there are a lot of states that forbid it. Even here in Washington state there are counties where you can not transport homegrown fruit from one county to another. There is also a sign posted out where we have our beachhouse asking people to not bring firewood from elsewhere to reduce risk of importing pests and diseases.

How quickly will it mold after being harvested?
It depends. You are in a humid area. Ronda didn't have any problems at her house because she's in the desert, the problems started showing up with people on the coasts in higher humidity areas. If they didn't process it immediately or it sat at the P.O. for a couple of days, it got moldy. I'd say less than a week after leaving her place, and the wood was freshly cut from the tree and put in the box that day. I have the same problem in LA, but in Easter WA I could cure an entire box in the basement and never worry about washing it or it molding.
