Stackie
I bite.
I had someone e-mail me the other day asking me if I would be able to take in their chin. Apparently he has a broken leg and they are unable to afford his veterinary care. It has been broken for over a week now.
Me being me, I can't leave an animal in need and in pain. So, I am going to try to get this boy. They have been rather difficult about meeting me. All I have asked is for them, if they are willing, to meet me south of Indy which would only be about a 20 minute drive for them. They said they would, but every time I try to make a date, they come up with an excuse.
Hopefully soon we can settle on a date and time so I can get this sweet boy the veterinary care he needs. I have already called my vet and informed him of the situation...he said he would do the necessary operation (most likely amputation) and only charge me for the office visit and medication.
Here's the picture they sent in the e-mail. He otherwise looks pretty healthy. Wish us luck that we can get this boy to me soon and get him his veterinary care.
Any advice on care for a break that isn't fresh and the potential health effects from it are welcome. I've never dealt with a broken bone in chins before.
