Actually they aren't getting chins... If they come here as prompted to by the link in your post and see you calling them dumb, they probably aren't going to want to stay long.

I posted on it, and I gave them credit for at least asking about breeding before doing it. Most people don't even do that.

Sorry I probably over reacted. The way that the "question" was phrased it was like they were saying I want to breed for the heck of it. The question came off as shady IMO. Something just didnt add up. Why would you breed an animal because your friends have them?

Lots of people, especially younger people, think okay a chin at the pet store is $150 we can breed them and make that much money! Sounds easy right?
I remember a girl where I used to live had a little mutt dog, seen the little mutt dogs at the pet store for $500 so wanted to get a male PUPPY from the pet store, bred her dog, and turn around and sell the male to regain their money. I told her it wouldn't work because firstly the male wasn't even old enough to breed, and secondly they'd never get back what they paid for the male. A lot of times if you explain to young people a reasonable reason why it won't work, they'll listen. Much of today's youth is lazy ( as is my generation ) and don't want to waste time or money when they won't get anything out of it.

There are plenty of dumb people who are breeding and don't listen, at least that person asked before getting animals.

I didn't read it. However I'm going to throw in my favorite saying.

YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID.

That's a rude thing to say considering you didn't even read the yahoo post.

I also think that this is a case of ignorance and being young... I do not think that name calling is applicable (it isn't in most situations, but this one especially). I think teaching and explanation is a better route here.

My ex calls me every name in the book, just because he thinks it, doesn't mean it's true. And I don't feel I should be judged by someone who doesn't know me, based on his opinions.

So the "kids" want to see what happens if you breed chins. Fair enough.
They ask the question on the "NET". And they didn't think to surf the net for answers. Thus I threw in :Sarcasmd:

So I stand by my post. No hard feelings. Didn't call anyone a name.
I'm comfortable with my sarcastic side. And I CAN be put on ignore.

Well done on answering the tykes question. Now lets hope they DON'T DO IT.

Lilan,

No one is perfect. Give them some credit for asking (although not in the best arena) before you start calling names.

It wasn't long ago (and by not long ago...I'm talking a month ago) that YOU were handing out advice on Yahoo Answers stating that people could use mouthwash to clean cages and feed peanuts and popcorn.

See this thread for reference http://www.chins-n-hedgies.com/forums/showthread.php?p=183162#post183162.

You've completely changed your tune in the last month, so give other people a chance as well. They may surprise you if they are given the opportunity to find some good information.

No question is a stupid question. Worry more about the ones who don't ask and just go full throttle, 0-tons of chins in a short time and breed whatever. That is stupid you can't fix.
