Pink whites?

Do pink white chinchillas always have to have beige spotting? My pink whiye Ruby's spotting seems to be more of a gray, almost like a really light mosaic but has pink ears. He pedigree has an ebony once in her line, so could that be it? Thanks for the help.

Do you have a pic of her? What are her parents? The beige on a pw often looks more grey than beige I think it is partially because it's up against so much white much of the time.

The only picture i could get is the one on my avatar. Her parent were a standard grey and a tan white and she had 2 standard grandparents, one labeled Pastel-Medium and one that was a TOV Mosaic, ebony/white

What is the difference between a pw and a tan white? My boy looks like yours (ilovemychin) and his pedigree says tan white.

A pink white has no ebony, just the white and beige genes. Tan white means there is ebony in the chin's background, as well as beige and white.

Didn't make the edit in time. But I guess I should also add, a **** beige PW does not have the standard gene, but a hetero beige PW does.

no-if I remember correctly her pedigree says she is an ebony carrier. Her beige is not, if I remember correctly, as dark as a tan. She has 3 generations of ebony in her background on her dad's side. I didn't breed her, but I too would have labeled her a pink white ebony carrier. At the very least she should be carrying the ebony gene.

There was a pink white chin on Dave Woods ranch page. She was pure white showing no beige or tan in her. However-she carried ebony because she threw a **** ebony. It was soo neat to see a stark white chin next to an every hair shiney black ebony.

Oh okay Jessica! Thanks. She seemed to get a little bit more if the spotting since i got her from you, so i was just curous. She has gotten a little bigger since i got her, and i think she's done growing now. Thanks guys!

I have a pink white here that when I first got her she just had a few spots of beige on her. Now she is primarily beige. She has no ebony in her background. Every chin is different...it's really amazing.

Ya i've noticed. My mom camw up to see her one day and asked me if i had been giving her dust baths because she thought she looked dirty. I guess i spennt so much time with her i hadn't noticed how different she has gotten...I've been trying to upload pics, but i cant get it to work.
