I got a new camera, and what better than to try it out in the chin room? I thought I would share the pictures.....:)
My cages are 24 by 48 with a partition in the middle (top of bottom floor, and the bottom of the top floor has a hole that can be covered to make two 24 by 24 cages, or left open to make a tall 24 by 48 inch cage).
The maternity cages are 16 inches high but still 24 by 24 (shown in third picture of three cages, top one is 24 by 24 and the other two under it are my maternity cages)
I have cut down on breeding though, and most of my chins are in same sex pairs. There are other people in my area now breeding, and I don't want many unwanted chins in this area, so have almost given up my breeding. In 2010 I only had one kit born!

Of course I can't show you my chin room, without showing off some of my sweeties!
Here are Chanel and Versace! (last picture) Pure standard female and tan white male.

Love the cages, whoever built them looked like they did a great job.
Your chins are quite stunning. Looks like a nice herd.

They're all so beautiful! I feel like a lot of pet stores have unattractive chins but yours are all so handsome.

My chins are definitely not from a pet store. They have been purchased from some of the best breeders in Canada and the United States.
Also, although I say I am a hobby breeder, I only had one kit born in 2010. I have put most of my males together and my females together because there are too many unwanted chinchillas out there, and I WILL NEVER supply pet stores with chinchillas. Many of them breed, just to make a quick buck and do not care about the quality of chinchillas they sell.

I built 2 of the large cages for Corinne, and one single one that she has, her chins for sure love those cages. The ones I built for her, I used the same design as the old one she had, so tried to do my best there :)

I love the cages too! They were made by my Uncle, but he lives about 12 hours away from me....he used Ontario Chinchillas design plans for them, with the hole in the bottom floor of the top cage.
But this was a few years ago, so when they needed replacing Kathiva made me a couple to replace the ones that need replacing.
