I adopted a chinchilla yesterday (FINALLY received her- beautiful standard grey girl, fur chewer and 3.5 years old; the adoption post is to come! ;) ) and she come with some of the Oxbow Papaya tablets (not http://www.oxbowanimalhealth.com/products/type/detail?object=1702 which are posted on the Oxbow site, but the older version of them? They came with 500 tablets, so they've had them awhile.)

I feed all my chins Oxbow but have never tried these tablets and was wondering if they're good or bad for the chins. I've recently introduced the Timothy treats they offer, but I am always leery of anything "fruity" for them, so I figured I'd consult others first before continuing giving them to her and possibly buying more in the future (her tin is nearly gone, anyhow).

Thanks for any insight! :)

I've used something similar. That was waaaaayyyy back when we all thought the chins could get bad fur balls so I would give it out every week or so.

It's not a bad thing, but you want to moderate it. It would be very helpful for chins with gut motility problems.

(Congrats on the new adoptee!)
