Everybody meet Buddy! He's a BIG boy at 903 grams. He was on a high fat food though (Nutriphase Gold) so he may lose a bit of weight while he's here.

This was him when he got here (even after a dust bath in Blue Cloud).

He had been bathed in bath sand for all 4 years of his life. All those little pokey parts are matts of fur. Under him, his entire back end was matted way worse than the top of him.

This is him now (same day). He's only had two Blue Cloud baths and a rough groom. I wish I had a #2 comb to finish the job (used a #4) but for now he looks a whole lot better. I was going to let him settle in more before grooming, but all those matts looked uncomfortable, especially on his underside. I didn't do as good of a job as I would have liked, but he was getting pretty stressed out. Every one of the matts are now removed though. He's an unhappy boy, but I bet deep down he feels better!

The fur pile. It's a whole lot larger than it looks. It's about 6 inches across and that's just what I was able to keep ahold of. There's a good amount still flying around my living room.

Look at that stink eye! If looks could kill I would definitely be dead by now. ;)

I expect him to look a whole lot better in the weeks to come with regular dust baths and a bit more grooming.

He looks so sad in the first pictures. :( I'm so happy he is with you now. His fur looks so much better. I bet he is going to love giving you stink eye. :)

Poor lil guy. I bet he is feeling tons better now, though!

He's a cutie Crysta! I'm sure he does feel lots better! And boy that stink eye! Can you imagine the crabby kids he and Bobo would have? LOL!

I can only imagine Laurie!

He's actually a very sweet chin. He likes to be carried and loved on, he's just unhappy about the grooming in those pictures. He didn't like it one bit. I was really gentle, but firm enough to get the mats out. Weirdly enough, he didn't bark when I was pulling out mats. He was barking when I was combing fur that had no knots. Weirdo.

Awww. He's being such a good boy. I mixed a bit of his Nutriphase with a whole ton of PRCS, and he's eating the good pellets! I was sitting in front of his cage hand feeding him pellets for about 30 min. Who needs actual treats? I don't! :p

Are you certain that is stink eye? Could it be "Ahhh a REAL dust bath. Back off lady, you cannot have it! It's MINE!"

He looks a ton better already, I bet he feels it too.

What a handsome boy, even if he was looking a little rough. I'm sure you'll turn him into a purty boy in no time! :D I love fat chins, I really do.

wow! Such improvement in a short time, imagine how beautiful he will be in a few weeks! He looks great, Crysta!
