A while back i had mentioned that my two boys were not eating much hay at all. (Plenty of their pellets tho) It was suggested trying to mix in some Orchard Grass to their usual Timothy Hay. And it seemed to work.
They were eating more hay. Whether is was just them eating all the orchard or eating more of an over all mix, i don't know. I try to mix the hay and the grass up in a container then give it to them. That way its all combined together. Or course with how picky most chins are with hay, it might be futile.
When i was nearing the end of the Orchard bag tho i started slowly weaning them off of it. So it because more and more Timothy hay they were getting. And sure enough they reverted right back to eating small amounts of hay. (pellets are still fine tho)
My question is; is it ok to give them an orchard and timothy mix on a regular basis? I don't wanna over feed them orchard grass if its something they should only have now and then or in small amounts.
