I know everyone is always looking for some online stuff to do to make money and some people looking for jobs, which this can go for either/or.

Most people have heard of this because it's spread like wildfire but I've worked there off and on since August '08. It is legit and if anyone has any questions etc, you can always PM me. :D
Please type in my email for a reference: [email protected]

Overview of ChaCha:

ChaCha is where people can text any question to 242242 or call and get an answer, as a guide (which is what I do) you answer those questions and get paid for them. It is FREE to text or call a question in, try it out if ya want. To get paid you cash out on your dashboard, the fee to cash out is $2 because of the bank they are through but then it goes onto a Visa Debit Card. You also have the option of direct deposit into your bank account but there's a $100 minimum and it only happens once a month. The choice is yours, I do the debit card because it's handier.

They pay anywhere from $.10 to $.22 per question answered...which isn't a lot but the questions mostly take 2 minutes or under to answer (you have 10 minutes until they get passed on.) Once you get practice, you start to answer them lightening fast.

There are also weekly contests on the weekends. When you are logged on answering normal questions you are automatically entered to win certain amounts of money, I've won a few $5 and $10 drawings.

I recommend the Guide role but you can read the other roles here: http://becomeaguide.chacha.com/guide-roles/

PLEASE PLEASE READ the handbooks and such they send you BEFORE you take the SIM test...seriously, you *think* you may know how to do it but there's so much detailed info to learn before just going into it. Like citing sources...and what not to cite, etc. They will fail you if you mess too many things up.

Why Become A Guide: http://becomeaguide.chacha.com/why-become-a-guide/
And they have a forum as well with over 10K members...

Let me know how it goes and of course, anyone can PM me with questions and whatnot. I know everyone is very hesitant about putting info on the net (which is understandable) and they do require personal info because you are required to fill out tax stuff to file of course because it is income. But it is legitimate and they keep your information private of course. Hope this helps someone out!

I've been a guide on ChaCha since Nov. of 08. I've made a good amount of money but honestly, when they say you can make $10 an hour, its hard to. I make on average $6 an hour and thats with non-stop questions. Back in Nov and Dec there was a huge remodeling of the place and I could barely make $2 an hour since no one was getting the messages at the time. Now business is really picking up and I don't have the time to do it.

Cool! This is a first time I have heard about it but since I am home most of the day can always do something to make a bit of extra cash.

thanks for posting!

I do chacha- on ocassion. You really don't make that much, at most 15cents per answer, and some questions are hard!

I've made $50-$75 in 1 day...it just totally depends on your categories and how long you do it for, IMO. I don't do it as much as I used to but it's a good way to earn a side income or if someone's in need.

Just trying to help some others out...even a small income is helpful to some. :D

Sorry to bring this thread back up, but kaykay, how did you handle your ChaCha taxes for 2008? Were you able to write internet cost off and whatnot? I think that much earning is only like $100 in taxes, but it is still rough.

So are you guys that do it, sure it's 100% safe to give them your personal information. I'm thinking about signing up because I still can't find a job, so anything extra will help.

Also, do they teach you where to go for the answers or how to get them, other than search the internet, and what if you get a question wrong?

THanks
Jean

They are not hiring right now due to the huge amount of applications, but you can sign up for alerts I believe? They give you tools to find answers, but mainly it is up to you.

They are legit. I'll share my page, too. Earnings are since May 1st, but it has been super slow this week.

If you don't have a job and are looking for a bit of extra money, you could do secret shopping as another option. I do some for www.secretshopper.com and of the companies I've signed up for, they pay the best at about $15-$20 a shop.
They are legit and I have gotten paid from them.
The shops aren't hard, you just have to look at what the shop wants you to evaluate, then you pick a date and time that works for you, go to the store and do whatever the shop had specified for you to do. Many times you have to ask questions and evaluate things like store cleanliness, bathrooms, stocked shelves etc. I did do one for a pizza parlor so me and my bf got to eat for free. That one was super easy! The hardest part for me is remembering names (but you can give descriptions if you can't remember the worker's names) and you have to remain anonymous at all times or else if they know that you're doing a secret shopper and tell the company you're working for, you won't get paid.

However, most likely you wouldn't get rich off of this as many times there's only like one or 2 stores to be evaluated each month in a given town. Well, atleast by me where it's a smaller town. I also do over in St.Paul MN area and there's a lot more selection since it's a bigger town.
