I have a couple of things I've been wondering and since I know there are lots of chinnie and hedgie people that buy fleece I'm putting this here to catch everyone's opinion.

Has anyone noticed a change in Joann's fleece? I swear their solid color fleece just doesn't feel as thick as it used to be and hasn't been for 6 months or more (based on my last 2 purchases)! I use the very light colors (pale yellows mostly) as they are the best for showing discoloration in urine and feces for the hedgehogs. I found a remnant I had purchased last year and compared it to one I purchased last month... sure enough the new stuff is lighter weight. Anyone else seeing this? Is it just me?

Second question, anyone buy fleece online and have a store that they really love? I know the holiday season is almost gone, but I really hate shopping this time of year in box stores. Which got me to thinking about buying some online. So do you have a favorite online fabric store?

I'm very dissatisfied with JoAnn's fleece, so I no longer purchase from there. Even the anti-pill that's sometimes $12.99 is so thin. I now purchase everything from Hancock Fabrics. I mostly drive an hour to get it, but I've ordered a bunch online too. They have great deals on solid fleece, especially after Christmas I think their solids are $2.99.

At least I'm not the only one complaining about Joann then! I think we have a Hancock nearby, I may have to go shopping next week to see what I can find and remake some of the FN cage liners!

Yeah, the fleece is thinner than it used to be. I think even the Hancock fleece isn't as thick as it used to be. Although theirs is better than JoAnns. And the one by me always has a better selection.

For online, I like Sy Fabrics http://www.syfabrics.com/Browse.aspx/Fleece/271
I like them because they charge flat rate shipping of $9.85 or something like that, and I always order a ton at a time.

I also noticed the solid color fleece is thinner than it used to be.. I haven't bought anything online, but I plan on my next fleece purchase to be at a local chain of stores called SAS Fabrics By The Pound. They are like a mini warehouse stacked floor to ceiling with fabric. All the Hancocks in AZ closed :( I used to love going there.

Really? I had no idea.. But Tucson is still farther than SAS 5 miles away.
