Alas a little over a week ago I lost the battle against my hostile uterus--or rather I won the battle as that sucker was yanked out and destroyed!

So how am I doing? Well I'm feeling pretty darn good. Stewart has been wonderful doing almost all the cooking and taking care of chin cages for me. When I first got home he brought everyone out one by one to get a snuggle and a kiss from me. And guess who the snuggliest was? Bobo! can you believe it? She laid nestled in the crook of my arm for about 30 minutes, and she let me kiss her on the nose a zillion times without a single bite. My vicious little girlie is so sweet out of that cage!

I'm still having take ferrous sulfate daily which I hate, but I know it's helping because when I laid down the week before my surgery I would hear the blood rushing loudly in my head, to the point of not being about to sleep. Now I can lay down and barely hear it. My hematocrit is normally 44, it had dropped to 38 then the day before surgery it dropped to 30, the day of my surgery it had dropped to 22--I was lucky they did the surgery without a transfusion.

So I am on the mend woot!

I tried to go pain med free yesterday and actually wound up getting my butt kicked on that one! Stewart did not like hearing my moan in pain and kept pushing them on me but I thought I could manage without. My mom was shocked as I was always pushing drugs into Lisa--so today I am back taking them and just trying to relax.

I got flowers from both my family and work and they are still looking gorgeous after a week! I got a super cute card from mom--it was a little mouse sitting in front of a sausage and the inside says the wurst is behind you now! LOL! She was disappointed to see no cards with chins, but these little mouse was the closest she could get and he's dang cute lol!

Here are the flowers:

These beautiful fall colors are from my family and the ones beside it with the beanie baby are from work--work also sent some chocolates!

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who's had to put up with me in chat and listen to my hostile uterus rant--you guys are the best! Thanks too to those of you hitting me up on FB regularly to check in and see how I'm doing. I have such great friends here on the forum!

Yay, glad to hear you're doing better. Pain medicine is your friend. It isn't worth waiting until the pain is unbearable. Trust me, it'll make your recovery go that much smoother.

That really is good news. You take it for granted that after the operation everything will go perfect, when actually you can easily have complications and infection. I'm so glad that's over!

WOO HOO!!! Glad you're feeling better.

Whoa, Nellie!!! Don't try to wean off of the pain meds too soon. My doctor told me that a normal person taking them for a legitimate reason will NOT become addicted, so don't worry about that. Their purpose is to kill your pain so that you can rest, relax and spend ALL of your energy recovering.

Miss Laurie, you are as bad as I was! Really, I stayed on my pain meds of some sort for almost 6 weeks. I did switch from the narcotics to naproxen to control the swelling and then since that wasn't controlling the pain, to prescription strength ibuprofen. after I went back to work, I was taking my meds nightly for the first week! Just take care of yourself- you want to heal well, and not pull stitches like I did.
