Ok, I need help from all you experienced breeders! My **** beige girl Buttercup has been pregnant and I've been anxiously awaiting the delivery of her first litter. Well, this morning I went into the chin room and she laid an EGG! Buttercup seems to be ignoring the egg and is only interested in eating. Should I leave it be and assume her motherly instincts will kick in or should I carry the egg around with me? Or do i need to get an incubator?!

Help!

Well if os moosr is not incubating os egg osn I think you should take on your breeder responsibility & sit on it for her - I'm sure you have os time to sit on an egg for a few days 24/7?

I just weighed it and it's 57 grams! And since you all want pictures, I'm sure, I've attached a picture of os egg. It's a pretty gold color like Buttercup!

It even has that reddish tint everyone like to see in their chins!

Buttercup still doesn't want anything to do with the egg so I will be sitting on it until it hatches.

I will be selling any future eggs or offspring from this pair if anyone is interested in homozygous golden egg chins or golden egg carriers. I will only be selling them internationally though. At this point, I will not be selling any in the US.

I don't care about the eggs, I want Buttercup.

All around very cute Sumiko.

Oh by the way---- I am annoyed and it only took a second.

I wonder if the father is a reptile or a bird? A snake chin would be cool..so would a gator chin. It's probably half bird though...that sort of thing is bound to happen when we keep chins in bird like cages and give bird like toys, they adapt and evolve.

A golden egg huh? That sounds pretty serious. I suggest you read up on golden eggs so that you don't end up like the people in the Land of Consumption.

Please note: Chinchillas who lay golden eggs may have great nobility and the power of cuteness when soaring on furniture and bouncing about, but can get cantankerous when their owners force them to stay in their cages.

A chinchilla with a golden egg is a serious endeavor and certainly not a laughing matter. I hope you realize the gravity of what you have gotten into.
