So my beloved vacuum (yes I LOVE my vacuum) had been attacking up recently, the hose wasn't sucking very hard, it was making a funny noise and the hose wasn't sliding back down into the wand part correctly and I have been fiddling with it here and there and haven't been able to fix the problem... well last night I decided enough was enough and I was going to take the dern thing apart until I figured out what was wrong... well I took off a piece that comes from the hose to the canister and found a rather large apple stick wedged in there (when did I suck that up!?) so after some work I got the apple stick out and I tell you chin poo came raining down from the hose after that! It was all clogged with poo!! It was like a poo shower all over my floor! And of course, I had to stick my finger up in the poo filled hose and wiggle it around to release all of the poo *sigh* the joys of owning chins... but hey, at least my vacuum is better now!

Just thought I would share with some people that could relate :D

Haha, oh I've gotten the hose on my vacuum clogged with poo and shavings before when a twig gets stuck. Not fun!

I can't seem to vacuum without clogging up my vacuum hose. Happens less frequently now that I've changed to fleece liners instead of bedding. With the bedding, it got clogged frequently and I had to figure out how to take the vacuum apart so I could unclog it. Grrrrr! But it is kind of interesting to see how much comes spewing back out of the hose!

I've given up on a regular vacuum. It there are shavings and poop involved - the shop vac makes an appearance. I got tired of taking my vacuum apart every time I went 2 feet!

I've had that happen before! A shop vac is a chin owners best friend!

I have found a way to even clog a shop vac! The only answer for me was getting rid of the bedding! Vacuuming 3 times longer than I should totally irritated me and I do not miss bedding at all! Poop, without the bedding, sucks up without a problem!

Ha, I love the title on this thread! I thought it was only me that this has happend to.

That's why I love my shop vac. Whenever it gets clogged I just take it outside, plug the hose into the air outtake, and watch everything blow out into the backyard. My neighbors always look at me like I'm nuts!

Yeah been there done that too. I stopped using the regular vacuum cause daddy didn't want me clogging it up anymore hehe
Now i just the a different one since I use liners in all my cages except one now.
I'm thinking about using the shop vac to clean my trios cage since they use shavings but I dont know yet. It's the cage my and daddy built for them so I might find an easier way to get the shavings out.
