We got the new FN all set up and ready (will take pix when camera finished charging) and we're picking up our new little boy today! One last thing I need to do is wait till I see his size and in the cage to determine if I'm going to need to block off the top floor and wrap the bottom in hardware cloth so he doesn't escape. I'm hoping he'll be a husky boy so I don't need to. I'm so excited I can hardly concentrate today!!!!! :dance2:

ETA: I'm taking the day off work tomorrow just to keep a hidden eye on him :))

Bahahaha!

You guys are funny :). I'll take some pix soon, I promise! I'm still waiting on my Bass pans, hay bag, fleece tube, and pan liners...(all custom leopard print, of course) :tease:

So we brought our new sweet baby Jasper home last night and all is well! I held him at the breeders house and he has a sweet disposition! He slept on the car ride home (about 45 mins) and was over joyed with his new mansion! I put him in his hidey house, but he didn't stay in there for a minute. He spent all night jumping on all the ledges, chewing apple sticks and he even popcorned a few times! He ate ALL of his timothy hay overnight and when I went in a few minutes ago to replace it after he had woken up, he jumped onto my arm and tried to climb up to my shoulder. I was scared he'd get to the floor, so I lowered him back into his cage and he climbed off and was nibbling my hands :) . I know, I know...PICS are coming. I'm having an issue with my camera software downloading pix so maybe I'll upload a not so good cell phone pic. I'm trying to not bother him too much although when I walk through his room, he runs over to the bars to watch me and I have to stop and feed him the bushy tops of the timothy hay that he loves :) To say that I'm happy with him is an understatement!!!! More to come soon!!!!

Ok...here's some preliminary bad cell phone pix

Baby Jasper was kind of in the middle of sleeping with his body on the ledge, and his head in the hammock!?!?!?!?!?! The last 2 nights, he slept upstairs, on his pillow, out in the open..He's been laying in the hammock more frequently so I think that's gonna be a fave sleeping spot. Look at him, The flash woke him and he's not too happy about it...lol. He's getting used to skritches, but jumps away when I accidently touch his super long whiskers or his back. We're in the middle of adding more shelves so the place looks kinda bare. I'll update with good pix once we get everything in place and the rest of his stuff gets delivered :)... Okay, Going to sand more shelves.... I thought 10 would be enough, but the top is really sparse right now.

He is cute, and you'll definitely need to get some better pics. However looking at the current pics you'll need to keep a very very close eye on those hammocks (I personally wouldn't trust them and wouldn't have them in my cages) make sure he doesn't have any interest in chewing them at all. The middle looks like fleece but the edging doesn't and even if it is the stitching on it is accessible, thread is very dangerous if swallowed. Also the rope that is used to hang it, if that's not made of a chin safe natural fiber (sisal, jute, sea grass), then that isn't very safe either. The hammocks I have have grommets and then a metal clip to hook to the cage, other people make them with fleece loops or ties.

That's good to know..thanks. I took the hammock out of the lower level..That one was for a ferret. It did have an edge sewn to it with thread. The upper one was made by Shelly @ Fleece for Furries and it's good to go!
