That's really a funny picture but yes, I've seen lots of cute pics from other members that have posted of their chins and their wacky positions.

almost all of mine have done it in some form or another. theyll go to a corner and stare into it. Like them old photos or videos youde see of a guy on a stool in a corner with a DUNCE hat lol

latly the air has been on for them. But this place sux for tempiture. It heats up quick. so that ac is alwyas on. It does the job but do to the structure, it almost never shuts off. But its cool enough for them not to be hot or anything

Edit: the temp on its usaly set somewhere between 70-75. And as u can see in the picture, the wall unit is right next to their cage. (infact theirs a second cage u cant see between ac and their cage) but right next none the less. So they do sometimes sit near the bars to catch the breeze from the unit. But that position was jsut a bit mroe odd then usual lol

one of my boys puts himself in the corner. just stands there facing the wall like he has been punished. i find it very odd!

That's a great position! Arms hanging out and all! As a few others said, it does look like they're trying to get cool. You may want to put some chinchillers or tiles right in front of the AC just to give them one really cold spot. It would also help to determine if they're just being weird or are actually uncomfortable. Maia gets really irritable when it hits 70, while no one else seems to care. Her fur is really, really dense though, so it does make sense.

Back when I had Flea and Tik together- Flea would fall asleep stretched out on the wheel, then Tik would jump on him and start running. No compassion for a sleepy chinny.

one other thing to add. Both them pictures, and every time iv seen it happened, is quite late at night. Generaly around the time where its starting to get naturaly cooler in here (even tho the ac is always set)
While not dissmissing the idea, one would imagin if it was heat related that it would be accuring mroe often in the noon or evening when its warmest.

Hamlet, while a hedgie, liked to smoosh himself like that against the side of his cage that was nearest the floorboard heating unit. He particularly liked finding ways to smoosh his tummy against the glass tank right by the heat.

they could be feeling the metal corner bars of the cage start to cool down around that time of day, and are taking advantage of it. during the day when it's warmer in there, the metal wouldn't be very cool for them.

I agree. Mine will sleep in his fishbowl in the bottom of the cage all day where it is cool, but at night he will sleep in the top of the cage. They are good at working out the idiosyncrasies of their own cage.
