Yes, people will help you groom. How many do you have to show?

We use specific combs made for chinchillas. You can purchase them yourself if you would like. Jags and Ryersons sell them.

One of my chins I may not show since he is really small but I would only have 2 or 3. And I don't want to buy brushes yet until I know that I will want to go to another show since they are a little pricey

That's a good point. It would probably be pretty chaotic for the chin. I don't have a chin yet, I was just wondering.

the baby derby is a cutie contest really

some breeders bring in kits that are of younger age than the show animals that they feel can win a cutie contest. they are not handled by judges or anything. they are put together in individual cages on a specific table for them.

to vote for a kit one must buy tickets and put them in the bag of the kit they find the cutest. they can put in as many tickets as they like, and they are not limited to one kit. one can put tickets in every little kits bag they see if they wish.

the kit that has the most tickets wins the first place and there is the 2 and 3

trust me, there are cuties there. some breeders have them up for sale.

I believe I have said it all, but maybe not. possibly someone will add to this or adjust

Nice, thanks for the info! My husband had fun imagining a bunch of babies running a very disorganized and adorable race.

Are there any breeders here going to the show that live in the NY area? Or in New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania?

I know, I've begun dusting but it's been so long between shows that I keep forgetting to take the dusters back out. My show string will be very clean at least!
