Probably a stupid question but can she dust while I'm treating her, or will the dust irritate the injection sites?

I dusted Suagr while he was ill - seemed to be the only thing he enjoyed. He was getting 6-8 injections at least twice a day and there was never any problem.

Lady's stomach feels much better when I'm rubbing it. It's flat and not bloated. Her appetite has increased, in addition to being hand fed she's eating more pellets, and some hay on her own. Her poop is still inconsistent. Somedays it is normal looking, and other days it's very small. She's still only pooping in the early evening, and a little bit overnight, even though I have her out for playtime three times a day to keep things moving.

We never got more buprenex, but the vet and I decided to put her on metacam since I had it at home. Yesterday we increased her sub-q's from 20ml/day to 30/ml a day.

Any thoughts? When do I know she's out of stasis? I'm assuming when I see consistently sized droppings? At that point what's the weaning process? What's first to go, meds, sub-q's, CC?

If she's getting both CC and subq fluids and seems hydrated I would start with one of those. How come you upped her subq fluids?

My vet suggested the increase in sub-q's. He said 20/day is a low dose, and he's hoping that the increase will help regulate her poop. Even though she's getting the same food/treatment each day some days she's still producing small hard droppings.

I get overly worried when I deal with stasis and keep up treatment for at least 7 days after the chin returns to normal. Stasis can take up to a month for it to be DONE!

Gotcha, didn't know if the poos were just small or small and hard.
20ml/day is low, maintenance fluid therapy is about 100ml/kg/day so about 50 ml for 500 gram chin. Also take into consideration they're getting fluids through the CC as well.

How's her weight holding up?

She dropped 10g initially but is holding steady now. I'm thinking it may be due to the increased exercise?
